Tukad Reef is a coral reef formation located in the northern part of the municipality of Pilar Province of Capiz. It is a submarine islet of shelled molluscs and corals with layers of sand on top. It is 10 kilometres away from the shoreline of Pilar Bay with an area of 4 hectares. It is seen during low-tide and could only be reached by a boat. As its widest area, people can do picnic at the reef during low tide or even put a volleyball court to play.
Municipality of Pilar is the only municipality having this kind of reef compare to the other neighbouring municipalities in the Province of Capiz and even in the Region VI. As I recall during the time that I was there, during the fest of Saint John the Baptist during every 24th day of June annually, people in the locality went to the reef boating together with family and friends spending the fest at the reef. The reef is a leaving legacy in every people in the municipality of Pilar and the province of Capiz. It is a place for fishermen, tourists, natives, and drivers to be hook in for their time to spend the pleasure they feel and be wonder.
